Conger Fishing Looe
Try your hand at conger eel fishing from Looe, where Cornwall’s reefs and wrecks hold some real monsters.
If you fancy some proper sport with real pulling power, conger eel fishing from Looe is well worth a go. These strong, hard-fighting fish live around the reefs and rough ground off the Cornish coast, and when one takes your bait, you’ll feel it straight away. They’re powerful fish that put up a great fight — it’s fishing that really gets the adrenaline going.
We head out aboard Typhoon for evening trips from 5–8pm, tide and weather permitting. The reefs we fish are only a short steam from Looe, so you’ll be fishing within about half an hour of leaving the harbour. Once the baits are down and the tide starts to run, you never quite know what’s going to take — though it’s usually conger eel we’re after, you might also find pollack, wrasse, ling or dogfish mixed in.
All the tackle and bait are provided, and I’ll be on hand to help you get set up and show you a few local tricks I’ve picked up over the years. Typhoon is a comfortable and steady platform for evening fishing, and with the light dropping and the sea settling, it’s a great time of day to be out on the water.
Whether you’re a regular angler or just looking for something different to round off your day in Looe, conger eel fishing aboard Typhoon offers a proper Cornish experience — good company, strong fish, and the chance of a real bend in the rod.
